This is the commercial I will be analyzing. I think that it is a very effective commercial because it appeals to a wide range of people in a variety of ways. The most obvious way that it appeals to various audiences is through variety of people and activities that are seen in the short video, however there are some more subtle elements to the commercial. First off, it creates energy within the structure of the commercial by showing energetic and exciting activities, but also by playing upbeat music and quickly cutting between clips. Another way that this commercial is effective is with the simple fact that while most commercials can only show what their product is and describe it, this chimerical was done using the product featured in the commercial which gives the viewer a concrete idea of what they will be getting. Aside appealing to athletes in individual actives this commercial shows a sort of lifestyle to the viewer, giving the message that if you have a gopro your life will be more like that of the people in the video. The final and arguably most important aspect of the commercial is how it showcases the flexibility and diversity of activities that may be easily recorded with a gopro. At the start the camera and commercial are started with one press of a button, then everything from extreme sports to kids on slides is shown which appeals to everyone from athletes to parents, then at the end the camera is splashed to show the audience how durable it is.
