Hook: Have you ever had one of those moments when you were like “Dang, I really wish I had caught that on camera.”? Maybe it was something really cool that you did, or something like your friend accidentally belly flopping off a boat. Purpose/Thesis: With this commercial GoPro tries to show the versatility and exciting life that can be captured in fantastic quality with their Cameras. Body I: GoPro shows that this camera is for truly everyone in a variety of ways. First: They show the ease and durability of the camera throughout the video, specifically at the beginning the commercial or “recording” is started with the push of a single button. Second: At the end of the commercial the camera is splashed, showing its durability which makes it less of a niche product. This durability is re-enforced throughout the entire commercial where the camera is seen in extreme situations, like skiers doing backflips off of jumps, but also with possibly the most destructive force on the pla...

Speech Outline

Purpose: The goal of this commercial is to show the viewers a lifestyle that comes with their camera and the many ways the camera may be used. How: The commercial cuts quickly between various different activities which give a range from professional skiiers, children, a man and his bear, highschool athletes, and many more. This first shows the audience the types of people that use this product. In addition the diversity of the activities depicted shows how the camera can be used for everything from extreme sports to getting cute footage of your child. The idea that this is simple and flexible is then furthered through the start being the simple press of a button, and in the end the camera gets soaked. Effectiveness: This commercial is an effective because it does show the viewers the lifestyle that comes with a gopro so to speak, but it also excites the viewer without using any words. This  is the commercial I will be analyzing. I think that it is a very effective commercial because it appeals to a wide range of people in a variety of ways. The most obvious way that it appeals to various audiences is through variety of people and activities that are seen in the short video, however there are some more subtle elements to the commercial. First off, it creates energy within the structure of the commercial by showing energetic and exciting activities, but also by playing upbeat music and quickly cutting between clips. Another way that this commercial is effective is with the simple fact that while most commercials can only show what their product is and describe it, this chimerical was done using the product featured in the commercial which gives the viewer a concrete idea of what they will be getting.
